Offering next-day turnaround, DermSTAT™ Skin Infection DNA Tests provide definitive diagnosis for bacterial, viral, mycotic infections and scabies infestation that are more accurate than conventional testing methods.
LEXINGTON, Mass. — StrataDx, a national diagnostic laboratory led by dermatopathology experts, announced the launch of DermSTAT Skin Infection DNA Tests. DermSTAT offers next day results on panels developed to detect and differentiate the causative agents on a spectrum of dermatologic skin infections.
StrataDx’s DermSTAT testing suite provides the highest sensitivity and specificity available in the diagnosis of important microbial agents causing skin infections. Current diagnostic methods including culture, histopathology and KOH have a lower sensitivity and specificity, as compared to the StrataDx’s DermSTAT.

“I am excited to offer this unique innovative molecular test to clinicians in order to more quickly and accurately diagnose skin infections,” said Dr. Lisa Cohen, StrataDx’s Managing Director and Associate Dermatopathologist. “With next-day results, DermSTAT enables effective initial therapy and quicker patient management.”
The collection method is a simple skin scraping, submitted for testing in a Dermapak. The collection process requires little to no post procedure wound care, increasing patient satisfaction. By using StrataDx’s DermSTAT, clinicians also eliminate other time consuming in-office procedures to allow for more time seeing patients.
